THE FIRST LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS
The first law of thermodynamics states that energy cannot be created or destroyed but can be transformed from one form to another. This law means that the total amount of energy from one form to another equal to the initial amount.
THE SECOND LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS: the second law of thermodynamics states that when one form of energy is converted to another a proportion of it is lost in the form of heat. It therefore means that when sugar is broken down at will the energy liberated can be used for forming new chemical bonds buit a proportion of it is lost as heat. Put in another way, It means that no form of energy transfer is 100% efficient. Also not all potential energy in herbivores is available to the carnivores. Energy is lost as the trophic level are as needed.
